Chair pictures - Weeks 14 and 15

Will at 14 weeks:

Week 14
Will at 15 weeks:

Week 15
Although these photos don't really show it, Will is an incredibly happy baby. His smile just makes his entire face light up - and the faces of everyone around him. He loves to "talk" to us. I love that sweet babbling voice. Also, he is truly sleeping through the night now. Although he occasionally wakes up at 5 or 5:30, lately he's more likely to make it until 6 or later before he is ready to get up. We're consistently putting him to bed at 8 pm, so he's sleeping 10+ hours a night. Amazing what a little sleep can do for Mommy and Daddy's energy levels!

Now that I've put it in writing, he'll probably be up at 4 am tonight. :)

February 21 - 27

Monday

School was closed for President's Day, so Nana and Granddaddy stayed another day to hang out with them so Mommy could go to work. Will enjoyed the extra snuggle time with Nana.

Wednesday

IMG_6892
Today was "Rodeo Day" at school, and everyone was asked to wear their favorite cowboy or cowgirl gear. Claire has dance on Wednesday mornings, so she wore her new boots with her leotard until class, and then wore her jeans and boots the rest of the day. We tried several times to get a good photo of the two of them - Big Sister just did not want to sit still!

IMG_6914
After school Claire wanted more pictures of her with Will - this was my favorite. Sweet siblings!

Thursday

IMG_6918
Will looks like such a big boy in his new polo shirts. I am having a hard time catching a photo of him with his beautiful big grin, but this is close.

Friday

Feb 25
Claire was beside herself with excitement over the Blue Bell push up that ended her kid's meal at Chuy's.

SaturdayClaire had a great time at Kate's 3rd birthday party and ate more candy than she usually gets in a month. :)

Sunday

Feb 27
Chilling out watching Blue's Clues after church.

Kate's Birthday

We were invited to celebrate Kate's Candyland birthday on Saturday, and Jill was so sweet to send a few photos she took during the party.

Will's First Sick Visit

Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, Will was a little fussier than usual, but didn't have a fever, so we took him to school that morning so I could get a few things done around the house. His teacher called a couple of hours later and told us that she thought he had an ear infection - that he was fine when someone was holding him, but would cry when they laid him down (like something hurt). I ran up to school to get him and got an appointment with the pediatrician.

Sure enough, his teacher was correct - first ear infection. Fortunately it was caught early, and he is already feeling better after starting the antibiotic and taking Tylenol. I'm so glad she knew the signs, and that he wasn't in pain for too long! Hopefully this is not the first of many...

On the other hand, he has been sleeping great! He has slept from about 8 or 8:30 until 6:30-ish 3 out of the last 5 nights - go Will! He's been sleeping until around 5 for a couple of weeks now, then eating and going back to sleep, but this is a welcome development!!!

Also, he weighed 15 pounds, 14 ounces at the pediatrician - my adorable chunky monkey. I don't think he'll be in his 3-6 month size clothes for much longer, and I just bought the size 2-3 Swaddler diapers since I think he would be out of size 2 before he finished another big box. It's crazy how different his growth is from Claire's. Mama needs to work on those biceps!

Project Life: Week 7

February 14 - 20 (apparently this was the week of iPhone pics!)

Monday
Valentine's Day!

Wednesday

Feb 16
There is this metal cover by one of the parking spots at Claire's school, and Claire will run over and jump on it every chance she gets. She loves how loud it clangs. Sometimes I park next to it on purpose to give her a good chance to jump.

Thursday

IMG_6868
Claire rediscovered her sand table while Nana and Granddaddy were visiting. They got it for her for her 2nd birthday, and she wasn't very excited about the sand last year. I think this year will be different.

Friday

Feb 18
Claire was very proud of her Lego wall and wanted me to take a photo of her with it.

Saturday

Feb 19 (1)
The rain spoiled our plans to go to the zoo, so we made an impromptu road trip to Luling for barbecue at City Market. Claire liked the beans while the adults feasted on brisket, ribs and sausage - yum!!!

Feb 19 (2)
A trip to Luling isn't complete without a stop at Buc-ee's. All of the logo merchandise cracked me up, and I was so tempted to get Will a Buc-ee's Beaver bib.

Sunday

Feb 20
Will was very disappointed to learn that he was too young to eat anything at Rosario's. Someday Will, someday...

Valentine's Day 2011

The day started out with the kids wearing their new shirts from Ms. Courtney to school - they were so adorable!

Week 7 - Monday

Robert and I were able to make it to Claire's class party. There was a lot of yummy fruit to chose from, but of course, the cupcakes were the favorite.

IMG_1223

That night, Robert brought us an assortment of gourmet cupcakes - my current favorite dessert. I had to restrain myself from eating all 4 by myself. Claire could hardly wait to have a bite.

IMG_6859

She was absolutely worn out by the end of the day, but still fought going to bed. I found her laying in her doorway totally asleep - she couldn't stand the possibility of missing something.

The sign of a successful holiday!

Project Life: Week 6

Photos from February 7 - February 13:

Tuesday

Week 6 - Tuesday

Spaghetti for breakfast??? Claire wasn't interested in any of her usual breakfast foods today. We didn't want to send her to school hungry, so we started listing off everything in the refrigerator. She settled on spaghetti. Whatever works, right?

Week 6 - Tuesday

Bottles, pump parts, bottle parts, more bottles...this is what our sink area looks like every night!

Wednesday

Week 6 - Wednesday

I love how happy Will makes Claire - when she's not on top of him.

Thursday

Week 6 - Thursday

A couple of weeks ago I gave Claire a little baggie of ice for an owie, and now she thinks she needs ice for even the smallest bumps. I ended up getting her a cold pack to reduce the mess. Today she bumped her hip getting down out of her learning tower and asked for "ice", then carefully applied it to her little hip bone.

Saturday

Week 6 - Saturday

Today we went to the rodeo. Claire spent most of the day pretty unimpressed with all of the activities...until she spotted the carousel and had to have a ride. We were happy to oblige, especially once we saw how happy it made her. There were peals of laughter the entire time - definitely the highlight of the day for all of us!

Sunday

Week 6 - Sunday

We finally got a chance to take the new stroller for the spin - it was a success!

Week 6 - Sunday

Claire was pretty happy about her new kicks once she got over the agony of having a stranger touch her feet.

Rodeo 2011

Robert got tickets to the Saturday afternoon performance of the rodeo. David and Penelope were able to join us, and we spent some time exploring the Family Fair before the big event. Claire's favorite part of the actual rodeo was getting to eat nachos (we caught her staring longingly at a tray of them that was being consumed by a kid in front of us and got her some of her own).

IMG_1199

Will enjoyed the extra attention from Penny!

IMG_1200

Claire started getting restless, so we left and asked Claire if there was anything else she wanted to see. She didn't seem very excited about any of the activities, so we started to head towards the car...then she spotted the carousel and had to have a ride. We were happy to oblige, especially once we saw how happy she was. There were peals of laughter the entire time - definitely the highlight of the day for me!

Project Life: Week 5

January 31 - February 6

Monday
Week 5 - Monday
Our new double stroller arrived today - Claire was excited to open it, and I'm excited to try it out!

Tuesday
Week 5 - Tuesday
We've been trying to give Will more tummy time - look at him raise up that head! Such a strong boy.

Week 5 - Tuesday
It's wonderful that Claire loves her little brother so much, but it's a constant battle to keep her from smothering him! :)

Wednesday

Week 5 - Wednesday
Will was getting upset, and Robert and I had our hands full, so Claire tried to calm him down with some songs from her "Jesus Book" - her name for "Wee Sing Bible Songs". So sweet!

Thursday

Week 5 - Thursday
Will rolled over for the first time today!

Friday

Week 5 - Friday
A snow day in San Antonio??? We got about 0.5 inches of snow today, and all of the schools closed (including Claire & Will's). We enjoyed the morning in our pjs before bundling up to check out the snow - an adventure that lasted all of 2 minutes. We are warm weather folks!

Week 5 - Friday
Robert getting the paper from our snow and ice covered driveway.

Saturday

Week 5 - Saturday
Lately when we've asked Claire "Are you listening?" she'll stick her fingers in her ears, showing us that she has on her "listening ears." So funny!

Week 5 - Saturday
Will and I tried out the forward facing position in the Moby wrap today - we were both big fans!

The boy loves his bath

Will loves bath time - it's his favorite part of the day. He starts getting excited when he hears the water running and we start to undress him. Even if he's a little fussy, he calms down as soon as he hits the water - and cries whenever I take him out.

Such a happy boy!

Will - 12 Weeks

Will hit the 12 week mark on 2/3/2011. I'm not sure if he's a fan of the hat:

IMG_6738

A little better...

IMG_6740

Attempting to stare down Claire

IMG_6745
The biggest recent development is that he learned how to roll from his tummy to his back, and he did it for the first time on his 12 week birthday. I had him on a quilt beside me while Claire was eating dinner and I was unloading the dishwasher. I looked at him, turned to get something from the dishwasher, and then saw he was on his back. We were all surprised, and I grabbed the camera. He rolled over a couple more times that night and has done it a few more times since them. Claire was a couple of months older when she first rolled over, so I'm curious to see if he will hit other physical milestones more quickly.
