The zoo is one of Will's favorite places. The weather this spring was beautiful, and we took advantage of it to enjoy a Mommy/Son day date. We saw all of his favorites and did all of the extras - it was a day of "Yes!"
Reptile House - he loves it.
Will's first time in the Butterfly Garden
Komodo dragon exhibit
The classic "sitting on the hippo statue" photo
First ride on the new carousel!
Lunch at the new restaurant - Will ate almost the entire jumbo corn dog.
Posing with the lions at the entrance
It was a perfect morning with my boy.

2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt
For the second year, we hosted an Easter party for our friends. Egg hunt, bounce house, wagon rides, snacks, fellowship with friends - we thought it was a success!
Checking out the loot
We had the bounce house for the day, so after naps, the kids and I went out for more jumping. It was such a nice day.

Claire's Party
Claire and her friends celebrated her birthday on April 13th with a party at Alamo Gymnastics. Since it's the year of "Frozen", we had a "Frozen" themed party.
The kids had a great time playing on all of the gym equipment. We also learned that maybe we should be policing the parents a little better - we unfortunately had one injury when our friend Josh hurt his ankle doing a backflip off the trampoline into the foam pit. At least all of the kids stayed safe!
We opened presents after we got home, and Claire was thrilled with all of her gifts. I bought her some note cards, and she got right to work writing thank you notes, putting all.those skills learned in Kindergarten to use! We had so much fun celebrating our sweet girl.

Bike Rodeo
Claire's school hosted their annual bike rodeo on April 11th. To place you had to ride without training wheels, but those who aren't yet at that point could still participate. We got the bike safety check list a couple of weeks before the event and realized the only thing missing was a bell for her bike. She picked out a pink bell at Target, and she was ready to go. Claire was so excited when we dropped her bike off at school the night before and was looking forward to completing the course.
Robert, Will and I arrived a little before the rodeo started, and Will sat himself down with the kids in Claire's class who weren't participating. He really thinks he is ready for elementary school.
Kindergarten went first, so she didn't have to wait too long.
She did a great job - we had so much fun watching and cheering her on.

Claire is 6
Claire turned 6 on April 8th, and we got to celebrate a few times. :) We started the day by letting her open her present from Aunt Lala & Uncle Robert - it had come the day before, and I convinced her to wait until her actual birthday to open it.
That afternoon Robert and I took cupcakes to Claire's class. She initially told us that she didn't want us to come (she is still somewhat bashful when all of the attention is on her!), but we didn't want her to end up being disappointed that she didn't get to celebrate with her class, so we went up there anyway, and she was glad we came. The class sang "Happy Birthday" to her, and they all enjoyed their treat.
We let Claire pick a place to go out for dinner, and she wanted sausage, so we had a family dinner at Blanco BBQ. Nana, Grandmommy, and Aunt Carol's family were able to join us. We had a great time at dinner, and Claire loved all of her presents.
Wii game from Nana & Granddaddy
Trapeze swing from Carol, Jeremy, Grace & Jacob
Robert and I got her the number one thing on her list - a tablet. She was excited, and she has been very responsible in caring for it. We were glad we could give her something that she enjoys so much!
We went back home and had cupcakes leftover from the school celebration. Will shared one with his favorite dragon.
Claire set up her Easy Bake Oven & lots of mixes from Grandmommy & Martin!

90
Robert's grandfather Bob turned 90 this year, and we got to go to Arlington and be part of a birthday surprise for him. Several members of Robert's family were able to be there, and we all enjoyed celebrating this special milestone!
Helping Bob blow out the candles on his cake - Will was focused!
Claire also got to open an early birthday present - a little suitcase from Ma & Bob. She absolutely loves it and has used it for an overnight at Nana & Granddaddy's house.
Before lunch at Joe T.'s
Ma & Bob
Ma made Bob a special scrapbook, and she realized she didn't have any photos of just me and Bob, so we fixed that for her. :)
Ashlee sent me a couple of photos she found on her phone - Claire & Will are pros when it comes to taking a selfie.
We were only able to stay one night, but we were so glad we got to see everyone and missed those that couldn't make it!
